250 or 260 Ultra?

Looking for ski to use off shore in Ventura CA. area. I now have two RXPs (one with Riva stage 1 ) and SXR800. Currently I ride on the Colorado river exclusively. I am looking for a ski for ocean use only and I heard that the Kawasaki is a good choice for offshore use. There are a lot of leftover 2007 and 2008 250 ultras for great prices ($8K). Other than the obvious has there been any changes to the ski that would make the 260 worth the additional money? How did Kawasaki get the 10...

Looking to buy one. Any reliability issues to be aware of? Engine area is clean, no corrosion or water stains. Prop seems straight and grate underneath is tight. Probably get it for $700-$800.

90 650 sx power loss issue

hi everyone, i got a 90 650 sx , mildly built , possibly a high comp. head, runs great for about 2 minutes, then loses 2/3 power. just got a manual today.any thoughts ??? thanks mitchell.

Hi have an 95 750 zxi and boat ran good for about 10min this year and shut off so I restarted it and ran like it was flooded but I gave it throttle and would go then die again same thing over and over but would only go 10 mph then die.As long as I didnt give it alot of gas it would stay running. So took it home and put a new fuel filter, plugs and when I hit the strarter the new fuel filled full of gas and started up. So I took it out again and ran great for 10 min then same thing . 750SS running badly - possibly overheating

Yesterday took the 96 750SS out and the garden hose fitting (attached to the top of the head) popped off while riding. I fixed the fitting issue, but now it runs fine for a few minutes when you first take off, but then starts bogging down and won't run over a certain rpm. I also noticed the there is a leak in the outer rubber exhaust hose (the big one that connects the exhaust manifold to the exhaust).

I'm thinking it might be overheating? I am getting water out of the...

My jet ski filled up with water inside the hull, and after I took it to shore and drained it all, I am having problems with the engine turning over, how do I tell if the engine is locked up?

I Have a 1990 Kawasaki Jet Mate. they were only made for a few years and i cant find much info on them at all really. I got to use it for a summer and im sorry it say i didnt winterize it that as well as i should of and the block stilled ended cracking. its been sitting for two years now but i don't really want to get rid of it. i want to put a new motor in it. they come with a 650cc but they are not fast at all. can someone give me some hints or ideas on how to or where to go for help...

For the riding I do, its plenty fast.
But I would love to hear the thing!
Does bypassing the secondary water box give more sound?
Or do I need to mod or replace the primary water box as well?

I was wondering if it necessary to use an R rated or Riva bypss to remove the secondary.
Has anyone tried removing the secondary box and just connecting the hoses?

watsup guys im new to this forum ... i just picked up my first stand up a kawasaki 440 and i want to step it up a bit i want to learn to work on my own but i was wondering what would be a good platform to start with im 5'8 and 200lbs i only include this because i had the 440 and felt it was a little weak ... especially after riding my uncles yamaha super jet. anyone out there got something for sale near california or arizona or know of a good place i can find one. i tried craigslist now...

I unhooked my bilge tubes going into the box that shuts down the rev on the engine if it ever gets hot and i know this is bad but its the only way i can get her to pee out the side.....anyways....will that effect my bogging issue or not............second thing is whats the best way to adjust the carb.....get her in the water and turn the low down far enought till she abouts to stall and the second one turn it 1 full and 3/4 turn....need help please????? Any suggestions???

I'm a newbie at this so bear with me. I have an 87 650sx that I just bought. I'm concerned about the oil injector pump failing this season or in the future. I've read that some people just remove the bearing and put the pump back in place - others use a block off. What's the best way to do this? Any help for manuals that I can download would be great too. Any maintenance tips for a ski that's been sitting for two years - besides pouring all the gas out! Thanks.

Hi, I just picked up an old 750 stand up that wasn't running. I pulled the pump out and found the impellor seized. Any clues to pulling the thing apart and fixing it? cheers

bilge pump on 550sx

I got a 1991 550sx this summer and have had a blast riding, but now that winter is here I have to do a little maintenance. The bilge does not seem to be working. I've checked the plastic intake in the bottom of the ski and tubes going to the back of the hull, but that's where I'm stuck. Is there a pump somewhere behind the tube that goes into the hull? If yes, how do I get to it? Should I be able to blow into the hull tube (it's completely blocked right now)?
