I got a ski from a friend of mine that has not run in 3 years. I had to put new pistons and rings and hone the jugs because it sat outside and moisture got it.
We finally got things back together and it turned over without any problems with a new battery.
They ran the fuel out the last time they had it on the water, I put new fuel in and I cant get it to start. Poured a little down the plug holes and it started and ran for about 10 seconds and then died. Tried the decompression plug and choke but using any combo we cant get it to light. we are getting fire. I dont think it is flooding.
How do you prime this thing. I put fuel in the little plastic bowl filter but that didnt help.
Is there a rubber diaphram where the oil and fuel mix at the carb that could be bad or some other type of fuel pump that could be bad. I know there is not a internal fuel pump in the tank.
I am stumped because we didnt take any of the fuel system apart when we did the in hull overhaul. We just unbolted the carbs and moved them aside, the carbs are also very clean the bike only has 35 original hours on it
I am stumped, thanks ryan
